About Us

The Centre for Disaster Management Studies, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College University of Delhi is an organisation committed towards making a change in the existing knowledge of disaster management. It aims to take a massive leap in the field of disaster management with its efforts and bring about all the help and awareness possible in the field.

It encompasses a diverse group of students and teachers who are passionate about mitigating disasters and are willing to work for it with true zeal. The centre is headed by the Dr. Poonam Sharma, Associate Professor at Department of Geography, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. The centre aims to provide unity and strength towards our one common goal which is to generate awareness in order to avoid disasters and also help in prevention of hazard. The centre believes in the positive and harmonious relationship between the man and the environment. It provides an interactive learning environment for various interdisciplinary education.

Through its working the centre aims to impart practical skills to students and different stakeholders. It aims to organise certificate courses workshops and training sessions on various disaster related issues.
